It's Amazing What You Can Do.....

....when you're up against the clock.

My sister had to bow out of her craft vendor spot at a festival due to sudden surgery and very kindly offered it to me.

The organizers agreed to it so there I was for two weeks, every night, sewing machine smokin' !!

I was really glad I did this because I made some great contacts and sold a lot of bags.

I had such a great time that you couldn't tell I'd slept only 7 hours for two nights prior to the festival! I was pretty tickled about that! It reminded me of 30 years ago, in my 20's, when I could work all day, stay up all night and work the next day. I was pretty darned proud of myself..........until the festival was over at 4 p.m. and somebody hit me over the head with a goofy stick.

Comatose. Head turned completely upside down. Yea....that was me! And as always, saying "never again"......until the next time.

And girls....thank you all SOOOOOO much for your comments on my last post and making me feel worthy of posting again. What kindred spirits you all are!!

Those are some pretty cute table cloths! So what you are telling me is that I can't work all day/ craft all night forever? :)

Holey schmokes lady--that's some serious deadline-making right there! Good for you--I'm happy that it turned out so well.

Hope your sister is doing well.

Smiles, Karen

Ohhhh Leeann...I'm sorry to inform you but....no....those work/crafting marathons WILL come to an end, but the good news is that you've got a good 20 years or more left before that happens!
And the tablecloths - I also love those tablecloths. My mother bought them about 35 years ago from a fabric distributor. They are "seconds" due to some tiny mishaps in their pattern and they also had raw edges when she purchased them. I love them too and luckily ended up with (3) of them.
And yes Karen, my sister is doing much much better. Thanks ladies!

Wow! I'm so impressed at not just the quantity you put together in such a short span of time... but the beauty of what you made. So many lovely things. My goodness, Dinah! You're a sewing whiz. Bravo!! I'm glad to hear that it went well for you and I hope your sister is on the mend.

All nighters are fun but yes, catching up on your sleep gets harder and harder.
It's thrilling that you are getting more recognition - well-deserved, I might add.

I was searching for fabric bags and found out your blog. You did very nice bags.

I have a sewing machine and I want to try to make my own ecobag. But I never did one, so I have to look around first to see if I find a bad model.

Keep up the good work :)
